چکیده
Abstract Soils contaminated with hydrocarbons is a repetitive site condition that may occur at locations adjacent to underground fuel tanks and other facilities. The main purpose of this study characterize assess possibilities reusing soil in useful applications such as roadway embankments. Accordingly, controlled amounts diesel were mixed clays sands using percentages ranging from 0 13.5%. Unconfined compression, direct shear, California bearing ratio, tests conducted on the diesel-mixed soil, along ultrasonic test. test provided measures for pulse wave velocity received frequency, which was correlated parameters elastic modulus, resilient ratio. From outcomes, it found small can help improved shear strength. For instance, adding 5% increased cohesion by 63% unconfined compressive strength 0.14 0.21 N/mm 2 . In sands, ratio almost double diesel, essential embankments especially remote locations. Damping coefficient determined different levels decay envelops. waves analyzed fast Fourier transform determine correlations between frequency content starting 13.5%, realized an uncomplicated be acceptably used static dynamic properties clean well soils.

Isolation and characterization of diesel-degrading Pseudomonas strains from diesel-contaminated soils in Iran (Fars province)
In this study, among the 21 diesel-degrading bacteria that were isolated from an oil-polluted area in Fars (Iran), 6 bacterial strains were tested for their capability to metabolize and grow on diesel oil by degrading its hydrocarbons content. The biochemical characteristics and 16S rRNA sequence analysis of diesel-degrading bacteria showed that these strains were related to the genus Pseudomon...

متن کاملIsolation and Characterization of Phenanthrene Degrading Bacteria from Diesel Fuel-Contaminated Antarctic Soils
Antarctica is an attractive target for human exploration and scientific investigation, however the negative effects of human activity on this continent are long lasting and can have serious consequences on the native ecosystem. Various areas of Antarctica have been contaminated with diesel fuel, which contains harmful compounds such as heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). Bi...

Ultrasonic tissue characterization is a new area of investigation in the field of cardiac ultrasound. The amplitude and frequency of the ultrasound signal are normally altered as the signal penetrates through tissue. It is assumed that the amplitude distribution and frequency shift of diseased or edematous tissue are different than those of normal tissue. A statistical approach to the analysis ...
